Other Experience

In addition to over a quarter of a century of experience as a litigation lawyer and legal advocate, I have sound experience in practice management, business development, negotiation behaviour and practice and general dispute resolution.

I have delivered many papers to professional conferences throughout Australia. These papers have examined topics as diverse as:

• risk management;
• insurance law;
• litigation practice;
• SCUBA dive safety;
• school bus safety;
• marketing; and
• practice management.

I have appeared as invited speaker and panelist for a diverse range of professional groups and educational institutions including:

• Law Council of Australia;
• Queensland Law Society;
• Fiji Law Society;
• Australian Plaintiff Lawyers Association;
• Queensland Institute of Technology;
• University of Queensland;
• The NSW Property Council;
• Griffith University; and
• The Australian Institute of Actuaries.

I have also worked as a Visiting Assistant Law Professor at Bond University and for three years served as an Adjunct Professor with the Centre for Tourism & Risk Management of the University of Queensland.
