Professional History

I was first admitted as a Solicitor in Queensland Australia on the 13 February 1979 after completing Articles of Clerkship and part-time law studies with the Queensland Solicitor's Admissions Board.

In that same year I was admitted as a practitioner of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and in 1980 I was also admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in Victoria and a practitioner of the High Court of Australia.

Between 1979 and 2000 I was the litigation partner, and later (for 10 years) also manager partner of a large law firm on the Gold Coast.

Between 2000 and 2006 I worked as a sole practitioner appearing as counsel for and providing consulting legal services to a range of law firms throughout Queensland, NSW and the ACT.

In 2003 I was also admitted as a Barrister in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory.

I joined the Queensland Bar in July 2006 upon completing a term as President of the Queensland Law Society. Since that time I have practised exclusively as a barrister.
